1941: Lake Court Apartments sold

The sale of The Lake Court Apartments was announced in January 1941, naming the buyers as “Mr. and Mrs. H.L. Heathman and Mr. and Mrs. H.P. Peister.” with the seller listed as Metropolitan Life Insurance Company.

 

1952: Anhalt Addition:

Little historical information is documented about the design and construction of this building. Anhalt is not named on the building permit or blueprints. The building is documented in Lawrence Kreisman’s 1978 book “Apartments by Anhalt.” This publication indicates that Anhalt designed the building as a favor to the Heathmans after his retirement. It incorrectly documents the build date as 1936-37, while the Heathmans did not acquire the Lake Court Apartments until 1941. The 1952 build date & design by Anhalt is corroborated by a 2016 Department of Archaeology and Historic Preservation report.
